A rare European vulture was found in Hospet town of Vijayanagar district. Discovered by school children in the city of ranipate last month and It was given proper treatment and released again back to the wild.
Shivshankar Banagar, a journalist and hobby photographer, rescued the Eurasian griffon vulture species from the hands of children and gave it to the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Zoological Park in the taluk of Kamalapura.
Following the vet's approval, bird lovers released the recovered bird on the top of a hill in the taluk's Ingaligi village. The vulture circled the hills for a while before taking off to the north.
North India is home to the Eurasian griffon vulture. These vultures occasionally fall to the ground while migrating due to dehydration. Cases of this nature have been reported in Kerala, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. According to Dr. Samad, these vultures recover and can fly after treatment.
